Daniel Craig Reportedly Reprising James Bond Role

Bond 25 could begin filming next year, according to the report.

Daniel Craig will reportedly return as 007 for Bond 25.

Mirror reports producer Barbara Broccoli recently secured Craig for the next Bond film and is now working on getting Adele to once again sing its theme song. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter previously recorded the theme for 2012's Skyfall.

While doing press for Spectre in 2015, Craig infamously said he'd rather "slash my wrists" than return for another Bond film. He went on to say if he were to reprise his role, "it would only be for the money."

A year later, Craig changed his tune, saying, "As far as I'm concerned, I've got the best job in the world. I'll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly."

Then, earlier this year, Craig was reportedly "just about persuaded" back to Bond 25 by Broccoli while the two worked on an off-Broadway production of Othello. It now appears Broccoli has convinced Craig, and Bond 25 can begin filming as soon as next year, according to today's report.

Paul McGuigan, who directed four episodes of Sherlock, is reportedly being considered to helm the film. With Sony's distribution deal coming to an end after Spectre, five studios are now reportedly vying for the Bond distribution rights.
