2017 marks the 25th anniversary of DC's Wildstorm imprint. DC marked the occasion with the "DC Celebrates Wildstorm's 25th Anniversary" panel at SDCC today. Wildstorm founder and DC Co-publisher Jim Lee was in attendance, as were creators like J. Scott Campbell, Dustin Nguyen, Ryan Benjamin, Lee Bermejo, Carlos D'Anda, Sandra Hope and Alex Sinclair.
The panel focused mainly on the various creators reminiscing about the early days of the company before it was acquired by DC and the crazy parties Lee used to host (including a "pajama and cereal" party for the premiere of the WildCATS cartoon). However, the creators also discussed the upcoming Wildstorm: A Celebration of 25 Years hardcover, which will feature a wealth of pinup art, previously unpublished material and even some brand new short stories for books like WildCATS, The Authority, Gen 13 and Backlash.

Lee also commented on the current relationship between the DC and Wildstorm universes in DC Rebirth. He said that the decision was made to isolate the Wildstorm characters again because they didn't necessarily fit with the lighter, more hopeful approach DC is striving for with Rebirth. Hence the creation of Warren Ellis and Jon Davis-Hunt's rebooted universe in The Wild Storm. However, Lee said that the possibility remains for Wildstorm characters to appear in the DC books given the right circumstances.
Wildstorm: A Celebration of 25 Years is scheduled to be released on September 27.
