With Transformers: The Last Knight about to hit theaters on June 21st, and a giant writers' room/think tank currently plotting out the next ambitious steps for this franchise, we thought we'd check in with the current state of the Transformers-verse and see how it might start branching out into a shared universe with the G.I.Joe films and possibly some other Hasbro toy lines.
With Hasbro having put together a bible of all the mythologies and the Transformers and G.I. Joe movies having also created their own specific tapestry, it's now up to a team of writers, led by Akiva Goldsman (The Dark Tower, I Am Legend, I, Robot), to build all three things into one very large world.
So what does that mean beyond The Last Knight? Well, some of the Autobots, like Bumblebee, are getting their own movie. After there are origin stories, crossover movies, and - well, you all know how shared cinematic universes go. Go ahead and click through the slideshow below to see where the Transformers Cinematic Universe is headed...
Meanwhile, Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on June 21st, directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Nicola Peltz, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and John Turturro.
