Top 10 Spider-Man Gadgets

From his trusty camera to the most epic scientific inventions.

Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can… and whatever a scientist can, because on top of all of his spider-powers, Peter Parker’s intellect makes him one of Marvel’s most ingenious inventors.

Here are the top 10 gadgets that help him fight crime as Spider-Man.

10. Spider-Signal

Starting off, Spider-Man’s utility belt holds many of his gadgets, but it also has the awesome yet rarely utilized ability to shine the Spider-signal. While it doesn’t strike as much fear into the hearts of criminals as that other guy’s signal, he does use it to light the way in dark places, and a recent upgrade gave it a UV setting for when Spidey investigates crime scenes.

Even superheroes need to make a living, so to help his career as a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle, Peter showed off some serious selfie game by designing a camera that automatically tracks his movements and snaps front page-worthy shots of Spider-Man.

In the comics, Spider-Man can express emotions through his mask, but because that doesn’t really translate to live-action, his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe features a mask with cool mechanical lenses that allow him to focus his vision and avoid being overwhelmed by his Spider-sense.

7. Spider-Mobile

The deep cut, fan-favorite Spider-Mobile is a heavy-duty jeep with sticky tires that allow it to drive along walls. Recently, it got a sportscar remodel that can sprout mechanical legs, turning a novel joke into a sweet ride capable of keeping up with Spidey’s fast and furious villains.

6. Spider-Glider

And when villains take to the skies, Spider-Man can hop on his Spider-Glider inspired by his greatest nemesis, although his bag of tricks is full of non-lethal weapons like thermoactive foam, which helps when a building is on fire or when you’re fighting a villain who is literally on fire.

5. Web Wings

Many artists have drawn Spider-Man with webbing underneath his arms, and this isn't merely cosmetic — he can use them as wings to let him glide through the air.

4. Spider-Bots

Next up, when Doc Ock temporarily took over Spider-Man's body, he created a fleet of small Spider-bots that gave him a view of the entire city. Yes, these weren’t created by the real Peter Parker, but hey, a good Spider-gadget is a good Spider-gadget.

3. Mechanical Arms

Gifted to him for joining Iron Man’s side in the Civil War comic, The Iron Spider suit added a trio of mechanical arms not unlike the tentacles of Doctor Octopus. They can grab objects, attack enemies, feed video images directly into Spidey's suit, and even reach those hard-to-scratch spots.

2. Spider-Tracer

Now, villains like to make a fast getaway, so Spider-Man’s sticky Spider-tracers let him tag an enemy and track them to their hidden lairs, which has proven invaluable when it comes to saving the day just in the nick of time.

1. Web Shooters

Finally, Spider-Man's web-shooters are his best and most important gadgets. These wrist-mounted devices fire a specially designed fluid that instantly solidifies into a sticky, flexible, and very durable web. The uses are endless, letting him swing through the city, tie up enemies, slow down runaway trains, hold boats together, oh, and keep Iron Man from telling Aunt May his secret identity.
