Director Matt Reeves Confirms Affleck Is Batman in Solo Film

Director Matt Reeves plans on making The Batman with Ben Affleck donning the cape and cowl.

Batman-News spotted that Reeves confirmed Affleck's involvement in the solo film while promoting his upcoming film War of the Planet of the Apes. There has been speculation Affleck might leave the role, especially after he dropped out of directing The Batman and his name wasn't mentioned on the Warner Bros. press release for the film earlier this year.

However, after Reeves was announced as The Batman's director, Affleck did welcome Reeves on board the project.

While Reeves just finished up War of the Planet of the Apes, the filmmaker has shared his take on the DC hero. Meanwhile, Affleck is set to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Justice League later this year.

There is no release date yet for The Batman.
