DC Films Brass on How Whedon Got Involved in DCEU

Joss Whedon is already a big part of the DCE, according to DC films co-boss.

DC Films co-boss Jon Berg has shared how Avengers filmmaker Joss Whedon got involved in the cinematic DC Extended Universe.

In an interview with Variety, Berg revealed that Warner Bros. always has general meetings with creatives about comics and superhero movies. During Whedon's visit, the filmmaker found out the studio was interested in making a Batgirl film, and Whedon instantly got excited over the possibility of making it himself.

"With Joss, he saw the master board, and he saw a Batgirl title and he said, 'You guys seriously want to do ‘Batgirl'," said Berg. "And we said, 'Absolutely.' He said, “'That’s my jam.'”

Berg said Whedon is already a big part of the DCEU, as he took over production on Justice League for director Zack Snyder, who left the project following a family tragedy.

Justice League opens in cinemas this November. While Batgirl doesn't have a release date yet, be sure to check out the 7 actresses we think should play the DC heroine.
