Arguably Star Wars: Battlefront 2's biggest change is the addition of a single-player campaign mode, and a producer on the game now says it will take "around 5-7, maybe 8 hours" to finish.
Speaking to Press Start, Motive studio producer David Robillard explained that the team "wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out".
IGN recently went hands-on with the game's first three chapters, taking around two hours to do so, which should give some indication of how the mode's missions are divided up.
That length is more or less commensurate with the campaigns of EA shooter stablemates Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2.
Robillard was also asked about the possibility of story DLC for the game - the chances of that appear be somewhat up to you:
"We’re not ready to announce anything at this time," he explained, "we’ll see based on the reception the single player has, if we offer free DLC or not.”
EA announced at E3 that all DLC for the game will be free, instead adding a paid loot box system for in-game items - a move that's sparked its own controversy.
Battlefront 2's story puts us in the shoes of Empire special forces trooper Iden Versio following the destruction of the Death Star 2
We called what we played "a strong start to a story I’m excited to finish, one that’s already made me care more about a villain I’ve been programmed to hate than I thought I would."
Star Wars Battlefront 2 arrives for PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17.
