There has been considerable fan backlash after Marvel teamed up with arms manufacturer Northop Grumman.
Business Insider reports that fans have been vocally upset after Marvel announced a partnership with the world's fifth-largest defence contractor for New York Comic-Con on Twitter.
While Marvel didn't reveal any details about the deal and encouraged fans to attend to the NYCC booth, it apparently was going to have a potential promotional Avengers comic featuring Northrop Grumman Elite Nexus.
Marvel appears to be responding to fan feedback on the issue, and has since canceled the proposed event, however, there has been no comment on the partnership itself.
Earlier this week, Marvel and Netflix canceled the NYCC Punisher panel and postponed the TV show premiere after the Las Vegas shootings.
