The grand prize is The OMEN Challenge trophy, but 5 more were up for grabs as well, each trophy a real-world replica of an in-game item:

  • Two (2) Golden Frying Pan “Play of the Game” Awards: Awarded each game to the player with the most stylish kill. These kills weren’t necessarily critical plays, just memorable ones.
  • Two (2) Marksmanship “Longest Killshot” Awards: Awarded to the two snipers with the furthest killshot. Like the Frying Pans, these didn’t have to be clutch, just far, far away.
  • One (1) Iron Man “most kills” award: This award was measured cumulatively. The player with the highest kill count across both matches walked home with a real Level-3 Helmet.
About PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUBG)

PUBG is a survival game, but that means more than just firefights! The entire map is encircled by a blue forcefield that can hurt or kill players. It starts off wide, so most games start with players avoiding conflict in favor of looting for weapons and gears. But as the game progresses, the forcefield contracts, forcing players into conflict until there’s a showdown in the “final circle.”

Game 1 Highlights
  • Bait Car: Team OhMyDog used the constricting blue forcefield and a “bait car” to tempt team SwiftRage out of their defensive position and into the open. What made it so successful was Noble_Edakulous (OhMyDog) selling the bait with a long drive, and NukemDukem (OhMyDog) dragging his injured partner behind the vehicle as cover.
  • First “Golden Frying Pan” Moment: Bait vehicles are common in PUBG, but Blackout009 managed to put a twist on it. Using PUBG’s notoriously dodgy collision physics, they took a dune buggy for a triple flip, and immediately exited the vehicle to take a knockout shot on Fremily_Serenity.
  • The Final Circle: The blue forcefield eventually shrank down to “The Final Circle”, forcing Team HeyGuys (Stodeh & 2AngryGamers-Tommy), Team FrankerZ (SilentSentry & TazedandConfused), and Team Jebatied (Monty & Sattelizer) into a final showdown.
  • Taking the High Ground: Team FrankerZ had a great defensive position on the high ground, so team Jebaited fell back out of range, drawing FrankerZ out of cover. Team HeyGuys rotated with the fight, using suppressing fire and opportunity without fully engaging. In other words, positioning through firepower. This won them the high ground and getting an angle on the other two teams. Because FrankerZ and Jebaited started the firefight, HeyGuys could pick their shots and their position, mopping up their competition in short order.
  • Last Team Standing: Team HeyGuys. The winners had a combined 9 kills, almost 25% of the field!
Game 2 Highlights
  • Second “Golden Frying Pan” Moment: Team SeemsGood’s AndyPyro had been holding down the Bridge of Death, sniping from a distance, only for Team WutFace’s PhantomACE_ to take away that distance by driving a car right at AndyPyro before gunning him down as he struggled to switch guns.
  • The Final Circle: It was down to the final match between Game 1 winners Team HeyGuys, Team CmonBruh (PsiSyn & MrBong), and Team YoHiYu (Sweet_Kill & Play). Team HeyGuys was the crowd favorite, as they got into the base early and had been holding it strong throughout the lead-up. But being dug-in with a target on your back can be real trouble.
  • Thinking on the Fly: Team CmonBruh botched an ambush on Team HeyGuys. Dropping the ball like that can cause many teams to panic and get picked off, but CmonBruh wasted no time switching from sneak attack to full-assault and pushing aggressively. MrBong (CmonBruh) tossed a frag grenade, which downed Stodeh (HeyGuys). His partner, 2AngryGamers-Tommy, had also taken massive damage from the blast and so Tommy was forced to leave his teammate to his fate. But Tommy didn’t get too far, as PsiSyn finished him off with a hail of fully automatic gunfire.
  • The Hits Just Keep On Coming: With two teams left, Team CmonBruh kept up the frag bombardment against Team VoHiYo, with MrBong (CmonBruh) throwing two grenades. The was another clutch double-hit that dropped Sweetest_Kill and ravaged Play’s health. PsiSyn cleaned up Sweetest_Kill with a scoped shot and laid down suppressing fire to keep Play rattled. MrBong finished the job with a third and final grenade.
  • Last Team Standing: Team CmonBruh. The grenade-happy team emerged victorious!
The OMEN Challenge Winners

Marksmanship “Chicken Dinner” Award:

  • Gold: AndyPyro got a kill from 289M away
  • Silver: Silent sentry was just behind at about 278M away
  • Fun fact: both winners were 100M farther than the next contender

Iron Man award: 2AngryGamers-Tommy with 8 kills through some amazing flanking.

The OMEN Challenge Winner award: Team HeyGuys had the most total kills across the two games and won The OMEN Challenge: PUBG Edition!
