After months of teases, Marvel Comics is finally revealing the titles that will make up their Legacy relaunch this fall. Legacy will include a mix of current, relaunched and entirely new comics, all of which seek to embrace Marvel's core heroes and ideals while looking ahead to a brighter future for the Marvel Universe.
Marvel is announcing these books in a unique way. Over the course of the day, different websites will be debuting a series of animated images that morph from a classic, iconic Marvel cover into a modernized update, each one spotlighting a different piece of the Legacy puzzle. We've put together a round-up of all of these animated covers. Keep checking back throughout the day, as we'll continue to update this article whenever new covers are revealed.
Also note that Marvel isn't revealing the creative teams for these new books yet. Look for that information to hit sometime between now and SDCC next month.
The third batch of covers was revealed by Syfy Wire.
Artist Dan Mora pays trubute to Sal Buscema's cover to Avenegrs Annual #17 here, which was the final part of 1988's "Evolutionary War" crossover. Now it's the new Champions who will be battling the High Evolutionary.
Greg Smallwood calls back to David Aja's cover to 2012's Hawkeye #1 here, suggesting that Clint Barton will take a more active role in the series again.
Dan Mora offers a enw take on Frank miller's cover to Marvel Team-Up Annual #4 here. It seems Jessica Jones is due for a new confrontation with her most hated enemy, the Purple Man.
Syfy confirms that team-up series Spider-Man/Deadpool will be sticking around for Legacy, though the site appears to be displaying a cover for Brian Bendis' Spider-Man series instead. We'll add the correct cover when it arrives.
Here's another series that seems intent on filling the Fantastic Four void in Marvel Legacy. Christian Ward pays tribute to John Byrne's Fantastic Four #261 cover.
Look for the Infinity Gems to become a major part of the flagship Guardians of the Galaxy comic during Legacy, with Ron Lim paying homage to George Perez's Infinity Gauntlet #1 cover.
