Tekken 7: How to Unlock the Special Chapter

The special chapter can only be accessed once you have completed the main story and viewed the Epilogue cutscene. This chapter offers an additional conclusion to the events of the main story, a supplemental to the final battle between Heihachi and Kazuya.

You can access the Special Chapter from the Story Mode chapter select screen at any time once you complete the main story for the first time.

At the start of the chapter, a cutscene will play that picks up right after the ending of Chapter 14, with Kazuya standing at the edge of the cliff in the volcano. Akuma will appear and you will have to battle him as Devil Kazuya. However, unlike before, Akuma receives a MASSIVE stat boost and gains a bunch of new abilities. All of this ultimately makes him become Shin Akuma.

This is a very difficult, and often frustrating, battle against Akuma. He can instantly gain his Super meter back to MAX using a triple red fireball ability. This makes his projectile usage more devastating and frequent, making staying far away from him a very bad idea. In addition to this, Akuma will be hype aggressive throughout the entire fight. You'll need to be defensive and watch for any small opening you can pop him up for a combo.

Akuma will teleport and retreat away frequently as he attacks you with fireballs and quick attacks from mid-range. As such, this is not a fight you will get on your first try nor will it be completed so easily. The difficulty is increased heavily and won't let up for a second. Akuma in this fight has an unblockable focus attack. He will use this frequently, which will absorb your attacks and go right through you.

NOTE: Lowering the difficulty of this fight will have NO EFFECT whatsoever on the aggressiveness or damage output of Akuma. Even playing with 1-Star difficulty for the Story Mode, this fight is very difficult and very frustrating.

With Devil Kazuya, you'll need to take advantage of your lasers at a far distance and keep Akuma at bay. This can be very tough because of how frequently he teleports towards and away from you. At a distance, Akuma can just launch his triple red fireball attack and instantly gain another Super meter for another Super attack.

When you have the ability to do so, laser Akuma as you see him ready another fireball at you. If he gets close, don't attack wildly and defend yourself until you can use a quick attack to pop him up. Be careful though, most of Akuma's attacks are fast enough to allow him a follow up that will deal massive damage to you.

This will be a very long and exhausting fight that will push you to your limits. Patience is going to be a very big asset here. Once you're able to get into a good rhythm against Akuma and deal enough damage, eventually he will go down and you'll need to quickly hit Rage Art button to complete the fight.

This will happen when you see Akuma go for the Raging Demon when he's at very low health. You'll then see Kazuya pose quickly, which is when you'll need to hit the button for your Rage Art.

Once you land the attack, the fight will be over and you'll obtain a trophy for completing it. The final cutscene will play right up to the end of the chapter.
