Electronic Arts officially revealed Star Wars Battlefront 2 back in May 2016. You’ll be able to get your hands on it when it launches on November 17, 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The biggest complaint both shooter fans and Star Wars devotees had about the original Star Wars Battlefront was that it was missing a campaign. The folks at EA have addressed this issue in the sequel by throwing in a full story mode as well as a robust multiplayer component. Even though the original game had only been on the market for six months, EA went ahead and announced Star Wars Battlefront 2 on May 10, 2016. The company promised this sequel would have “bigger and better worlds” that would be related to the new movies.
Though Star Wars Battlefront 2 didn’t have a huge presence at E3 2016, we managed to wrangle a few news items around the time of the show:
In January 2017, thanks to EA’s earnings call, we finally got a release window for Star Wars Battlefront 2, along with some extra newsy tidbits. Among those is that the game will take place across multiple eras in the Star Wars universe.
EA had originally planned to release the first trailer for Star Wars Battlefront 2 during Star Wars Celebration 2017. Unfortunately for them, the trailer leaked online a few days before the show.

Here’s something you don’t see every day in modern triple-A games: Star Wars Battlefront 2 won’t have a season pass. The reason given? They don’t want to divide the player community. Also noted at the same time was that local co-op will be exclusive to the console versions of the game (sorry, PC players).
