"Tom Holland rocks."

Sony has lifted the social media embargo for critics who've already seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the initial response on Twitter is overwhelmingly positive.

Mashable deputy entertainment editor Erin Strecker also had positive things to say about the film, noting it "had a good ol' classic teen comedy hidden in there, which was a goddamn delight." Additionally, ComicBook NOW! host Brandon Davis called Homecoming "endless fun, from the first second to the last. Flawless."

IGN Comics editor Joshua Yehl, as well as Mashable movies reporter Angie J. Han, Uproxx senior entertainment writer Mike Ryan, and LA Times' Jen Yamato all had positive things to say about the movie:

Gizmodo and io9 entertainment reporter Germain Lussier was also impressed with the movie, saying, "Spider-Man: Homecoming is a blast. It has an innocence that differentiates it from the other MCU movies but plenty of fun and spectacle too." MTV News writer Crystal Bell spoke highly of the film as well, and praised Holland for his performance:

Collider editor-in-chief Steven Weintraub also shared his thoughts on the film, saying, "Absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED Spider-Man Homecoming. Funny. Filled with surprises. Tons of fun. Going to make insane $ at box office." In a subsequent post he added, "The best Spider-Man stories took place in High School. The smartest thing is making these new films with him being a teenager. Loved it."

Additionally, Access Hollywood's Scott Mantz, as well as JoBlo reporter Eric Walkuski, and Fandango managing editor Erik Davis all spoke highly of the film:
