Samurai Jack Returns to Comics With a Quantum Twist


Debuting this September.

A new Samurai Jack comic from IDW has been announced, and it features a quantum twist.

As reported by Nerdist, the new series, titled "Quantum Jack," will debut this September. The comic is being written by Fabian Rangel Jr., with art by Warwick Johnson Cadwell. Check out the cover art of the first issue below:

"Quantum Jack" will tell the story of Jack as he's thrust into a "Quantum Leap-esque time-hopping" scenario, after getting hit by an experimental Quantum Ray. Instead of moving through multiple timelines, he finds himself jumping between alternate realities, with his spirit intact but his memories erased.

"I'm beyond thrilled to be working on new Samurai Jack comics," Rangel Jr. said of the project. "Samurai Jack is a huge influence on my storytelling… I think fans of the show will dig what Warwick and I have been cooking up!"

The first issue will also have an array of variant covers, including one by artist Michael Avon Oeming, which you can see below:
