Last night, Project Rap Rabbit failed to meet its Kickstarter goal of £855.000, and production has been halted for now.
Project Rap Rabbit was an idea from the creators of classic rhythm games Parappa the Rapper and Gitaroo Man, however the Kickstarter only managed to raise £162,057 during the funding period.
The pitch was a good one, with the game apparently going to reward experimentation and self expression as you counter-rap your opponents.
The developers have now said "sadly we are not in the position to be able to fund further production for a future crowd-funding relaunch involved a title deeper in development, and wouldn't want to scale back our vision. As a result, work on Project Rap Rabbit cannot continue at this time."
They are keen to bring the idea to life though, and spent E3 in meetings trying to make the future bright for Project Rap Rabbit.
In other unfortunate recent Kickstarter news, Shenmue 3 has been delayed from December this year to "the second half of 2018."
