If you're eager to learn what new comics will be a part of Marvel's upcoming Legacy relaunch, you won't have to wait much longer. A new press release reveals that Marvel will be pulling back the curtain on Legacy tomorrow, June 23.
Marvel's press release teases the reveal of "Every Hero! Every Title! Every Story!" while promising "a new dawn" for the Marvel Universe. The press release was also accompanied by a newly revealed cover for August's Marvel Legacy #1:
This image sheds a bit more light on the changes hitting the Marvel U. this fall, while also confirming once more that heroes like Peter Parker and Miles Morales, Tony Stark and Riri Williams and Thor Odinson and the Jane Foster Thor will continue to share their respective mantles. It's interesting to note that the Odinson is wearing his classic, Jack Kirby-designed costume in this image, whereas he's depicted wearing his newer, Olivier Coipel-designed costume in Joe Quesada's original Marvel Legacy teaser. Could it be that the younger Thor who will be appearing in the Generations maxi-series will be sticking around the present-day Marvel U?
It's also worth noting that this is the first Legacy teaser to include members of the Fantastic Four. Coupled with Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso's recent "Fantastic Two" tweet, it looks like Marvel has plans for these characters during Legacy, whether or not the full FF lineup will be reunited.
"A new initiative that will take things back to our iconic history, with a firm eye on the future, MARVEL LEGACY will present stories that remind everyone — newcomers and longtime fans alike — why Marvel stands as the premier name in fiction,” said Alonso. “Our titles will unearth gems from Marvel’s rich history, remind readers of connections between characters, and usher in the return of some major characters who’ve been missed. Above all else, we want to inject our comics with a massive dose of fun!"
Stay tuned to IGN Comics, as we'll be keeping track of any and all new Legacy titles that are revealed tomorrow.
