Lost Sphear Story, Characters, Battle System Detailed

Set in a world formed by Memories.

New details about Tokyo RPG Factory's upcoming game Lost Sphear have been revealed.

Following the announcement of Lost Sphear earlier this week, Square Enix has launched a teaser site for the title that contains new information about the game's story and its cast of characters, as well as its battle system.

According to the site (translation via Gematsu) the game world is formed by Memories, which are intrinsically tied to the people that inhabit the planet. When the Memories of something are lost, it is wiped from existence and described as "Lost." While the "Lost" initially couldn't be restored by humans, that changes when a sixteen year old boy named Kanata discovers the ability to change the world through Memories.

In addition to Kanata, the characters of Lost Sphear include Kanata's childhood friends Lumina and Locke, as well as a mysterious young man named Van.

Like Tokyo RPG Factory's previous game, I Am Setsuna, Lost Sphear will feature a battle system akin Chrono Trigger's iconic Active Time Battle system. Players will enter a battle seamlessly when encountering enemies in the map and will be able to move each character around the battlefield as they select commands.

Lost Sphear will release for Nintendo Switch and PS4 in Japan this fall, and for PS4, Switch and PC in Europe and North America early next year.
