LawBreakers is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 on August 8, but Cliff Bleszinski's newest game could come to Xbox One at some point.
In an interview with IGN at E3, Bleszinski said he wouldn't rule out the possibility of an Xbox version and explained why LawBreakers is launching on PS4.
"Xbox fanboys got really salty at me on Twitter, like, ‘It’s like you’re turning your back on the box that built your career with Gears,’" Bleszinski said. "And I’m like, not necessarily, because my first priority to me is my employees. I have 65 employees, many of whom have families, and I need to keep the lights on. When we looked at the fact that we could only ship on one console initially, PlayStation has the huge install base. That doesn’t mean that we can’t do an Xbox version later, or Xbox XOXO, or whatever they’re calling it these days. I wouldn't rule it out."
Before its August launch, LawBreakers will have a closed PC beta test starting June 28 for current keyholders that transitions into an open beta on June 30 to include new players. The beta ends on July 3. PS4 and PC beta signups are live, though specific beta test dates for the PS4 have not been revealed.
LawBreakers was nominated for IGN's Best Shooter E3 2017 award. Stay tuned for more news from IGN's interview with Cliff Bleszinski, and for all of IGN's E3 news and previews, visit the E3 2017 event hub.
