Writer, Jay Pinkerton, announced that he has left Valve via an update to his Facebook Timeline last night.
This makes Pinkerton the fourth Valve writer in two years to leave after Marc Laidlaw, Half-Life writer, seemingly started the exodus when he left in January 2016 after serving eighteen years with the company.
This was followed by the departure of both Eric Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek within months of each other earlier this year.
Pinkerton got his start writing for Cracked and joined Valve back in 2008. Perhaps some of the most memorable of the writer's work with the games company include co-writing Portal 2 with Eric Wolpaw.
His leaving causes more speculation about the direction of Valve as a developer, despite Gabe Newell confirming that the company is still working on single player games earlier this year.
