Far Cry 5: All Gameplay, News, Trailers

Far Cry 5 is set to launch in February 2018.

Ubisoft officially revealed Far Cry 5, an open-world shooter that’s set in modern-day Montana, back in May 2017. You’ll be able to get your hands on it when it launches on February 27, 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The first game in the series since 2016's Primal, the story of Far Cry 5 kicks off when a cult leader named Joseph starts taking over territory in a fictional region called Hope County, Montana. You play as a sheriff’s deputy who plays a leading role in the resistance. Read on for all the Far Cry 5 gameplay, news, trailers, and previews that have come out since it was announced.

First news of Far Cry 5

The first time we heard about Far Cry 5 wasn’t in the game’s official announcement or even a leak. It was during Ubisoft’s 2017 fiscal year earnings report in May. With the news that the sequel was in the works but little else to go on, the Game Scoop crew chatted about what they’d like to see in Far Cry 5.

Teaser trailers released

In May 2017, Ubisoft started the hype train rolling with four teaser trailers that confirmed the Montana setting and set a somewhat unnerving tone.

Over the course of the next few days in May, Ubisoft released a whole heap of Far Cry 5 information, including the release date and key art for the game.

Next came a series of trailers that showed off the setting and introduced some of the side characters you’ll fight alongside.
