Ex-Inside Dev Announces New Game: Somerville

Looking at "the lives of key individuals in the wake of a global catastrophe."

Dino Patti, former CEO and co-founder of Playdead, the developer behind Inside and Limbo, has announced a new game.

Somerville is the product of a collaboration between Patti and Chris Olsen, "a seasoned feature film animator turned developer," according to a release from Jumpship, the studio behind the new game.

Described as a "sci-fi action adventure" game, Somerville "chronicles the lives of key individuals in the wake of a global catastrophe."

Almost exactly one year ago, Patti announced via Twitter his decision to leave Playdead to "seek new challenges." Those "new challenges" included incorporating the Guildford, UK based Jumpship studio and working on Somerville.

Limbo and Inside were both extremely well received, with Inside scoring a 10 in our review last year. Limbo was similarly lauded, scoring a 9 way back when we reviewed it as part of Xbox Live's Summer of Arcade in 2010.
