Lost and The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof is reportedly in talks to develop a TV series adaptation of Watchmen for HBO.
According to Variety, Lindelof's take for the DC Comics-inspired series won't be tied to the Watchmen series HBO had looked into developing a few years ago, but will instead serve as a fresh start for the network.
A deal for the series is reportedly not yet in place. IGN has reached out to HBO, but the network declined to comment.
Watchmen centers around a group of costumed crimefighters, including Doctor Manhattan, Rorschach, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre, who unearth a massive conspiracy when investigating the murder of the government-sanctioned hero Edward Blake.
A film adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic, which was directed by Zach Snyder, was released in 2009. For our thoughts in the Zach Snyder-directed movie, which won't be released to HBO's potential TV series, read IGN's Watchmen review.
