Cars 3 nearly featured multiple talking Batmobiles.
In an interview with Screen Junkies, Cars 3 director Brian Fee revealed that the film originally had a scene in which Lightning McQueen ended up at a party in Los Angeles. As you'd expect, the party would've been filled with film stars - except in the Cars world that means, well, famous cars.
"At one point, part of the story took place in LA and we had a scene where McQueen went to a Hollywood Hills party and it was full of actors. So we had the old Batmobile and the new Batmobile talking to each other at a party," laughed Fee. "They're the actors of the world."
Unfortunately for Bat-fans, the "story evolved in a different way", and the scene never made it. Fee didn't go into detail about which Batmobiles he would've included. However, he had a fair few options, from Adam West's classic Batmobile, to Christian Bale's Tumbler.
Cars 3 is currently out in theaters and opened in first place during its opening weekend in the US. Read IGN's review of the film to find out why we believe "the Cars series finally finds its inner Pixar in its third, much more thoughtful installment."
