Bungie Confirms Destiny 2 Is 30 FPS on Xbox One X

You'll have to play on PC for a higher frame rate.

Xbox One X won't run Destiny 2 at 60 frames per second, Bungie has confirmed.

Luke Smith, the design director for Bungie's upcoming shared-world shooter, confirmed to Geoff Keighley during YouTube Live at E3 that, much like PlayStation 4 Pro, Destiny 2 will run at 30 frames per second on Xbox One X.

Bungie did not provide any specific details regarding why Destiny 2 won't run at 60 frames per second on Microsoft's upcoming $499 console.

Last month, Smith confirmed to IGN that while Destiny 2 will support 4K on PS4 Pro, the game will be locked to 30 FPS because of CPU constraints. "The PS4 Pro is super-powerful, but it couldn't run our game at 60," he said.

Destiny 2 will be released on September 6 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, two days ahead of its previously announced September 8 launch date. Meanwhile, the PC version of Destiny 2, which supports an uncapped frame rate, will be released the following month on October 24.
