Mahershala Ali (Luke Cage, Moonlight) has reportedly joined the voice cast of Phil Lord and Chris Miller's upcoming animated Spider-Man movie.
The Tracking Board reports Ali will play Miles Morales' uncle, Aaron Davis (a.k.a. the Prowler from Marvel's Ultimate universe). Additionally, Atlanta's Brian Tyree Henry is reportedly joining the cast as Jefferson Davis, Miles' father and Aaron's brother.
IGN has reached out to Sony for comment and will update this article with any new information.
The official voice cast currently includes Shameik Moore (Dope) as Miles Morales and Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan) in an unspecified, villainous role. The film is being co-directed by Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) and Bob Persichetti (The Little Prince).
The animated Spider-Man film will be released on December 14, 2018. Lord and Miller previously told IGN it's "not going to feel like every other Spider-Man movie you've seen."
Spider-Man: Homecoming, meanwhile, hits theaters next month on July 7. IGN recently spoke with star Tom Holland and put his Spider-Man knowledge to the test.
