Despite being a no-show at E3 2017 and at this year's Paris Games Week, Dreams is still in development.
In an interview with VG247, Sony's senior vice president of worldwide studios, Michael Denny confirmed the game is still currently being worked on despite the studio sharing very little about its latest project for two years.
“It is still in development and it is still very, very exciting," Denny said. “We’re big fans of everything Media Molecule has done and it’s so wonderful and it’s very much in development, very much still progressing and will very much be exciting when we next talk about it.”
Denny teased when people can expect to see Dreams again, saying the game will return quite soon and when it does, "it'll blow people away."
“It’s going to be massive, its incredible, we’ve shown lots of it before. When we come back with it again – that will be fairly soon, without putting any dates on it – it’s going to blow people away," Denny said.
In case you've forgotten, Dreams will see players solving platforming puzzles by creating items in its levels, and possessing characters in the world. It will also allow players to create worlds that look like living paintings, even sketching live with other players.
The game's beta, which was announced all the way back at Paris Games Week 2015, was delayed late last year. During that time, Media Molecule revealed it had completed Dreams' feature set and is "making good progress on the game campaign" within the title.
However, the studio needed to work out some bugs and fixes before it was ready to share a trial version of the game with the public. Dreams is one of IGN's top 10 missing games of E3 2017.
