Whispers of a new Super Mario breakfast treat have grown to the level of a dull roar. Evidence is growing and it all points to an oat and marshmallow-based cereal in the works from Kellogg's.
The rumor gained traction when the cereal-enthusiast website Cerealously posted an alleged confirmation of the existence of the cereal and its functional amiibo box.
On Twitter, Wario64 posted the cereal in the Target system, all but confirming we'd soon be taking an odyssey of breakfast flavor. We've reached out to Nintendo, called Kellogg's on the phone, written them an email, and sent a DM to the official Kellogg's twitter account.
Silence on all channels. What are they hiding? Is this breakfast cereal more than humanity deserves? Perhaps.
We were able to track the cereal to Walmart's website, although it's not currently available, nor is there any art accompanying it.
If and when we receive confirmation and details of this exciting entry into the world of sugary delights, we'll be sure to update this story. The amiibo functionality is the most interesting part of this whole thing. Some of Mario Odyssey's amiibo functions can be unlocked without the amiibo.
If we only had an image of the back of the box, we could know more, since it clearly states on the front "see back for details."
