6 Things to Do First in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp eases players in with a tutorial that covers most of what to do in the game. Much of what to do will be locked until it thinks you are ready, even if you are an Animal Crossing veteran.

First of all, you will get to create a character. This is all purely cosmetic and other clothes and customisation options will become available as you play.

So far hairstyles are locked to gender so choose carefully if you'd like to have specific hair.

Like most things when getting started this isn't permanent. The theme you choose will simply help decide your starting Animal and the first Amenity at your camp.

Animals in camps can later be rotated when full and Amenities can be rebuilt.

You can link your Nintendo account via the settings menu in game.

Linking your Nintendo Account will give you 100 Leaf Tickets, which are a premium currency, for free as well as allow for cloud saves. Find out how and what rewards you can earn here.

As soon as the option is available you should add as many friends as you can. Friends will be able to buy and sell you Collectible Items to help complete requests and maximise friendship links.

Friends are also necessary to complete some goals and can help you get into Shovelstrike Quarry for free.

Each area on the map will produce different Collectible Items and you will need these to complete requests. Knowing which items spawn where means you'll waste less time trying to find them.

When you select an area a magnifying glass with 'Found Here' is in the top right-hand corner. You can click this to get a list of all the items located in this spot.

EditCollect Fruit and Shells

Bugs and Fish respawn much faster than Fruit and Shells, so every time you enter the game it's a good idea to collect these items.
