What We Hope to See From Spider-Man at E3

Here’s why we can’t wait to get our hands on one of Sony’s “Big Four” of E3 2018.

It's that time of year again: E3 2018 is just on the horizon. From June 9-14, we'll be covering the biggest games and hardware announcements of 2018 and beyond. While you can check out our continually-updated Games of E3 List, we're now going to start diving deeper. Every day leading up to the show, we'll be highlight the stuff we want to see and play at E3 2018. Today's game: Marvel’s Spider-Man PS4.

When Did We Last See Spider-Man PS4?

We last heard from Insomniac's Spider-Man about a month ago when Sony announced that Spidey's suit from Avengers: Infinity War would be featured as a pre-order bonus/unlockable costume in the upcoming game.

Why We're Excited for Spider-Man PS4

Spider-Man’s reveal and tease back at E3 2016, along with the news that Insomniac would be developing the game, immediately got our attention. But seeing the gameplay demo last year is what solidified it as one of our absolute most-anticipated games of the year.

Everything about the game just feels like Spider-Man. Peter’s witty banter, his acrobatic combat, and the way he swings through New York City with reckless abandon all exude the tone of the characters we’ve loved our whole lives. And Insomniac’s pedigree with incredible combat and mobility in Sunset Overdrive makes it clear that they’re the right developer to tackle Spider-Man

Will Spider-Man PS4 Be at E3 2018?

100%. Sony’s officially announced that its conference will be focusing on its Big Four, which include The Last of Us 2, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man. Given that Spider-Man is one of this fall’s biggest games (September can’t come soon enough), it’s a safe bet that we’ll be seeing a ton of Spider-Man gameplay, and even getting our first hands-on time with it.
