It has only been a few hours since the Epic Games made the Jetpack officially available in Fortnite and it has already started to change the way fans play.
Jetpacks grant additional mobility by allowing players to thrust upwards for a short amount of time. Each Jetpack comes with a limited amount of gas and will disintegrate once depleted. Jetpacks need to recharge between jumps otherwise you're looking at overheating.
Hop Rocks are being used alongside the Jetpack to get some serious height without the worry of taking fall damage. Without the anti-gravity space rocks, landing from a great height with the Jetpack will result in damage just like any other fall. Players are quickly learning this and are using the Jetpack to slow their fall and buffer their landing.
And if you've been playing 50v50 and are scared a cruel teammate is going to destroy your ramp and send you to your death? Worry not, coming equipped with a Jetpack and using it to stop your fall can save you from a nasty attack. If an enemy player is building to the sky at a rapid pace, use a Jetpack to fly above and get them as they build.
Jetpacks are also great for scouting out the area in front of you or to simply get a nicer view from above.
Additional backpacks have been discovered within the content update released with the Jetpack, including an Eye of the Storm Tracker backpack that will reveal the location of the final circle. No word on when these will see a release.
