Fantastic beasts and where to buy them.

Walmart has a big sale on high-end Samsung QLED TVs today. Some background: you've definitely heard of LED. You've most likely heard of OLED. But QLED? That's just crazy talk, right? It's not a typo. In fact, the Q and the O are almost as far apart on the keyboard as possible. No, QLED is a cool technology, short for "Quantum-dot Light Emitting Diode."

Without diving too deeply into the engineering behind quantum-dot technology, the benefits of a QLED set are deep blacks with a rich, bright color gamut. In other words, your picture will look amazing. I tested out a Samsung QLED monitor a few months ago and I absolutely didn't want to go back. The reds were so red, I never knew such a redness, and perhaps never will again. The blues were eye-popping. Blue skies particularly made me wish I could dive headfirst through my screen and into the vibrant world the QLED display was teasing me with.

If you order from Walmart, most of these sets are eligible for free shipping, with the exception of the 75-inch sets, which have a small freight handling fee. You could always have your butler help load it into the Bentley if you want to save $50 and pick it up in-store for free.

The Samsung QLED displays are really, really nice. I can personally attest to that. But they're also not cheap. If you're in the market and have the budget, now is a good time to consider jumping in - these sets are $600-$1200 off. Samsung 65-inch Curved 4K HDR QLED TV for $2597.99

I don't know exactly what the point of a curved display is, but I do know after getting used to using one, going back to a flat display was really weird. My mind had gotten so used to the curve, a flat display almost felt like it was convex. It was real weird, is what I'm trying to say.

Samsung 65-inch 4K HDR QLED T for $2497.99

If curved isn't your thing, you can get this traditional, flat TV. It's a little cheaper, too. I guess curving technology adds about $100 to the price at this size. Who knew?

Samsung 75-inch 4K Smart HDR QLED TV for $2997.99

This set is marked down $1200 from its list price. I don't know why. It's an incredible deal on an enormous television set. There is just so much TV here. This one doesn't qualify for free shipping because it's so huge, some gruff figures in a truck will need to bring it to your home.

Samsung 65-inch 4K Smart HDR QLED TV for $2797.99

Here's another choice for your 65-inch television needs. This is a QN65Q8 model, as opposed to the QN65Q7 model up there. That means it's a higher series than its slightly less expensive sibling, and has a better picture quality.

Samsung 55-inch 4K Smart HDR QLED TV for $2097.99

For me, 55-inch is the sweet spot for screen size. My living room doesn't need anything bigger than that, but who am I kidding? I'm completely lying. If I could get a bigger set, I definitely would, even if it meant craning my neck to see the entire thing. But 55-inch is good.

004Samsung

Samsung 75-inch 4K Smart HDR QLED TV for $5,997.99

This is the biggest, most expensive TV on this list. It's a 9-series, which is Samsung's top-tier in terms of quality. Sure, it's just shy of 6000 bucks, but it's marked down from $7000, so that's something, right? You could use the savings to buy a PS4 Pro and an Xbox One X and then go out to a nice dinner.

Also, since this is such a behemoth of a TV, you have to pay $49 for freight.
