Insomniac Games CEO Ted Price joins confirmed list of speakers as well.

Jeff Kaplan, the director of Blizzard's popular multiplayer shooter Overwatch, will deliver the opening keynote at the 2017 DICE Summit, the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has announced.

In addition to Kaplan's presentation, titled "Overwatch: How Blizzard Created a Hopeful Vision of the Future," several other talks will be held at the event. Insomniac Games CEO and founder Ted Price, as well as Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann and Magic Leap's Graeme Devine have all been added to the list of confirmed speakers for the 2017 DICE Summit.

As detailed by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, here's a brief overview of what Devine, Price and Roseanne will each discuss:

  • Graeme Devine – Magic Leap's Chief Game Wizard, Graeme is responsible for defining the vision and leading Magic Leap's Mixed Reality gaming universe. In his D.I.C.E. session, "Into the Future," Devine will discuss how Mixed Reality will change our lives in the future and how we can create compelling gaming content that propels us forward - that enhances our lives through the Mixed Reality universe.
  • Ted Price, CEO and Founder, Insomniac Games – Price will be joining Jason Rubin, head of content at Oculus for a fireside chat - "Jason and Ted’s Excellent VR Panel" - where they discuss their takeaways from the first year of widely available VR content and what the future of VR gaming holds.
  • Bill Rosemann, Creative Director, Marvel Games – Rosemann will be discussing "World Building the Marvel Way" and reveal how The House of Ideas not only crafts fictional realms, but also strives to shape the world around us.

Previously announced speakers for the 2017 DICE Summit include 343 Industries head and Microsoft corporate VP Bonnie Ross, as well as Oculus head of content Jason Rubin.

In addition, seven new roundtable leaders have been confirmed for the event, including Roosterteeth's Alan Abdine, Streamline Studios' Alexander Fernandez, Todd Hooper of VREAL, Patric Palm of Hansoft, Roosterteeth's Gus Sorola, Massively Multiplayer Online Science's Attila Szantner, and Feargus Urquhart of Obsidian Entertainment.
