Warner Bros. is looking to secure the film rights to the popular anime and manga series Attack on Titan.
According to Deadline, the studio is currently in negotiations to acquire the rights, with the potential film adaptation to fall under the leadership of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them producer David Heyman.
Attack on Titan takes place in a world where humanity has had to wall itself in from massive, human-devouring creatures called titans. Following the successful launch of Hajime Isayama's ongoing manga series in 2009, the franchise has received an anime adaptation, the second season of which will debut this April. You can get a sneak peek at Season 2 of the anime right here.
The franchise also received a live-action movie that was released in two parts. Read IGN's reviews of Attack on Titan: Part 1 and Part 2 to find out why we found it to be a "poor adaption" that "butchers its story."
