On The Flash last year, we finally met Caitlin Snow's comic book alter ego, Killer Frost, via a trip to Earth-2 - a world where Caitlin wasn't just superpowered, she was evil. But now, in Season 3, thanks to Barry changing the timeline, Earth-1's Caitlin is beginning to transform as well.
Suffice to say, all of this is keeping Danielle Panabaker busy, who told IGN, "I'm excited for this season of Flash because Caitlin is really struggling with something internally. It's going to be nice to see how that resolves itself."

Panabaker said she also loved exploring "our" Caitlin as Killer Frost, vs. the version we met last year, noting, "I think it gets to be more of an origins story, whereas in Earth-2, Caitlin Snow was just bad to the bone - nothing you could do about it. Here we get to learn a little bit more about how she got there"
In tonight's new episode of The Flash, we meet Caitlin's mother (played by Susan Walters), which Panabaker said, "Hopefully informs a little bit of Caitlin's character and why she is so cold."

Panabaker didn't know Caitlin's father was dead until viewers did in Season 2, and she noted, "That was a powerful thing to learn because it really informed why Caitlin became a doctor and sort of set out to help change the world in a positive manner through medicine. And I think it also informs why she sticks around with the Flash, trying to help him and learning from his powers."
She's excited for viewers to learn more about Caitlin's history in Season 3, saying, "I think this is going to be a great season for Caitlin and I think understanding where she's coming from helps inform where she's going and why she makes the choices that she makes."

As for the upcoming multi-series crossover with Supergirl, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, the actress remarked, "It's great. It's fun because I get up and I go to work with my usual coworkers and I see him all day everyday and I know a lot about them. And then the crossovers happen and we get to hang out with people that we love and don't get to see as often as we'd like."
To say Caitlin has had bad outcomes with her romantic relationships is an understatement, and Panabaker said that right now, "I think Caitlin needs to take some time to focus on herself before she jumps back into another relationship and figure out what's going on with her, so she could be the best version of herself."
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8:00pm ET/PT on the CW.
