Mod Support Finally Coming to Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4

"Stay tuned for updates."

Fallout 4 mods are finally coming to PlayStation 4.

In a tweet yesterday, Bethesda has confirmed mod support for PS4 players will roll out with the next title update.

Bethesda delayed its PlayStation 4 mod beta in late June after reporting issues with its development. Three known issues were reported at that time - limited mod storage on PlayStation 4, memory and performance problems, and issues with sound files.

Fallout 4 mod support on Xbox One was introduced in early June to great success. According to Bethesda, mods on Xbox One generated "50x" the traffic than the initial launch of PC mod support for Fallout 4.

PS4 mod support is still significantly limited compared to that on Xbox One, however. Like Skyrim: Special Edition, PS4 mods cannot use external assets, and are limited to 1GB of storage on the console, to Xbox One's 5.

Update 1.8 - which is already live on PC - also seeks to address a number of issues, including sounds problems, crashes, and stable mod implementation. For the full list, head on over to Bethesda's website.

In our Fallout 4 review, we gave it a 9.5, stating: "The world, exploration, crafting, atmosphere, and story of Fallout 4 are all key parts of this hugely successful sandbox role-playing game.

"Great new reasons to obsessively gather and hoard relics of happier times, strong companions, and sympathetic villains driving tough decisions make it an adventure I’ll definitely replay and revisit. Even the technical shakiness that crops up here and there can’t even begin to slow down its momentum."
