Yes, Resident Evil 7 Will Have Supernatural Monsters Too

We've been told that Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is aiming to be classic Resi, but one crucial element's been missing up until now - monsters.

Until today, we'd only seen antagonists in the form of the human (if distinctly Chainsaw Massacre-y) Baker family. That's been rectified in one of the last in a series of mini-trailers being released to show off features from the upcoming game. The "Shadow" trailer shows us something going more than bump in the night:

There's clearly a reason for that trailer being called "Shadow" - it's a little dark in there, but we can do something about that. Enhance. Enhance. Enhance:

Back in June, director Kōshi Nakanishi told us that the game wouldn't be the ghost story the Beginning Hour demo implied, and this goes some way to proving that.

Alongside the Shadow trailer was a second (and seemingly final) video, showing a glimpse of Aunt Rhody, seemingly another member of the Baker family to be afraid of:

The trailer series is well worth a watch for those interested in seeing just how Resident Evil-y this Resident Evil will be - it's featured a host of returning touches, from item-based puzzles to classic "inventory Tetris".

We'll find out what other horrors the game has in store when it's released on January 24, 2017.
