Zoomed Out Mario Kart 8 Levels Show Scale of Tracks

See what lies outside the lines of Mario Kart 8's tracks.

Thanks to the work of a YouTube literally breaking the boundaries of Mario Kart 8 levels, we've reportedly gotten a better look at just how detailed the worlds of each individual track actually are.

YouTube user Shesez, who runs a video series called Boundary Break, has broken outside the standard framework of Mario Kart levels to offer a zoomed out view of particular levels, like Ribbon Road. The image reveals the highly detailed child's bedroom surrounding the toy-sized track.

Shesez has done this for a number of Mario Kart 8 levels, with the Mute City DLC track perhaps being the most noticeable for the scale of the world around the track.

In the image below, Shesez denotes how the actual racetrack is reportedly only a small portion of the fully built world in the game.

Shesez has posted a number of images to Twitter showing the massive scale of a number of Mario kart 8 tracks, such as Ribbon Road, Mute City, and Baby Park. Some tracks, like Donut Plains 3, are surrounded by simple scenery, while others like Mute City appear to be massively complex with the track only taking up a fraction of the map. According to the tweets these images are a preview of an upcoming video that you will be able to see on Shesez's channel very soon.

IGN has reached out to Nintendo for more information regarding the images and the work gone into designing the worlds around each track.

These images are pulled from the Wii U version of the game, which was recently rereleased as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch.
