Xbox Games With Gold for September 2017 Announced

Oxenfree, Forza 5, and more will be free.

September's lineup of free Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for Gold subscribers has been announced.

See the full lineup, as when as each title will be available, below:

• Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year Edition — September 1-30 (Xbox One)
• Oxenfree — September 16 - October 15 (Xbox One)
• Hydro Thunder Hurricane — September 1-15 (Xbox One and Xbox 360)
• Battlefield 3 — September 16 - 30 (Xbox One and Xbox 360)

Forza Motorsport 5 launched alongside the Xbox One in 2013, and IGN's Forza 5 review praised the racing game at the time, calling it "an essential destination for the automobile obsessed." 2017 will see the release of thelatest entry in the series, Forza Motorsport 7, which launches this October. Night School Studio's adventure game Oxenfree debuted in 2016, and IGN's review said playing through the supernatural story was like "walking through a stunning painting, listening to the idle chatter and revealing talks of (sometimes unnatural-sounding) teenagers."

Hydro Thunder Hurricane first debuted on the Xbox 360 as a Summer of Arcade title in 2010. An attempt at modernizing the Hydro Thunder series, IGN's review called Hydro Thunder Hurricane "a dull, monotonous experience that shows its hand early and fails to deliver on its pedigree."

Battlefield 3 first released in 2011, at which time IGN gave the first-person shooter a 9.0, saying the sequel "offers an unforgettable, world-class multiplayer suite that's sure to excite shooter fans." EA recently detailed the major In the Name of the Tsar expansion coming to the most recent release in the series, Battlefield 1.
