Steven Spielberg: Temple of Doom is the Worst Indie Movie

Sorry, Short Round.

Steven Spielberg still thinks Temple of Doom is the worst Indiana Jones film.

In an interview with The New York Daily News, Susan Lacy, who's the interviewer/director behind the upcoming HBO documentary about the filmmaker simply called Spielberg, confirmed the director's hatred for the movie is still alive and well.

Despite the popular dislike for the last Indie film, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Spielberg feels Temple of Doom isn't really the kind of movie he wanted to make. As noted by The Playlist, the director expressed his deep hatred for Temple of Doom before.

"It was too dark, too subterranean, and much too horrific," said Spielberg back in 1989. "I thought it out-poltered ‘Poltergeist.’ There’s not an ounce of my own personal feeling in ‘Temple of Doom.

It seems Spielberg's opinion won't change anytime soon. The HBO documentary will premiere on October 7. As for Indiana Jones 5, the fifth film in the beloved franchise will be released on July 10, 2020, and George Lucas isn't involved with the story.
