Pacific Rim Sequel Gets a New Release Date

A Jaeger bombshell.

You'll have to wait just a little longer to see Pacific Rim: Uprising, as the release date has been moved back to March 23, 2018.

This news comes via The Hollywood Reporter. The previous date was February 23, so the delay is only a month.

John Boyega, well known for his role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, will be starring in the Pacific Rim sequel. He'll play Jack Pentecost, son of Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost from the first movie.

Charlie Hunnam, who played the role of Raleigh Becket in the original film, won't be appearing due to scheduling issues.

Steven S. DeKnight will direct the movie, with Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro now taking a producing role. Jurassic World co-writer Derek Connolly has penned the script.
