DC Comics has revealed three new variant covers for Dark Nights: Metal #2, in addition to the previously revealed standard cover by artist Greg Capullo. These new covers offer further clues as to the story twists and character appearances to come in this epic crossover event.
First, here's the standard cover by Greg Capullo, which appears to show the Justice League confronting invaders from the Dark Multiverse:
Next up is the variant cover by Andy Kubert, featuring Batman wearing a Court of Owls mask and sitting perched atop a pair of Egyptian statues (possibly of Hawkman and Hawkgirl?):
John Romita Jr's variant cover shows Batman and Swamp Thing confronting Wonder Woman, which should please fans of Snyder's Swamp Thing run hoping for him to return to the character:
And finally, Jim Lee's uncolored variant cover shows Batman evading the Justice League while riding a water ski. Is this a sign of trouble to come for the JLA?
Earlier this week, DC also revealed two new covers for the spinoff specials Batman: The Red Death #1 and Batman: The Murder Machine #1, both of which spotlight a different evil Batman from the Dark Multiverse.
Dark Nights: Metal #2 is scheduled to hit stores on September 13.
