Batman, Assassin's Creed Port Studio Working on Switch Game

But which one?

Virtuos - the studio responsible for working on Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection, Batman: Return to Arkham and the recent Final Fantasy remasters - is currently "porting a AAA title to Nintendo Switch".

Spotted by YouTuber Doctre81 (via NeoGAF), a LinkedIn profile for a Virtuos programmer lists a work-in-progress project for Switch.

No indication is given as to what title that might be, and much of Virtuos' past work makes for a good fit. Batman: Arkham City was ported to Wii U previously, Ubisoft is one of Nintendo's closest third-party partners, and Square Enix already has more than one project in production for Switch.

Virtuos has also worked on older iterations of the NBA 2K series - it may be that the upcoming NBA 2K18 port has been outsourced, or perhaps even the recently announced WWE 2K18. Of course, it may be that this is an entirely new collaboration altogether.

While prolific, Virtuos has something of a checkered past - notably, Batman: Return to Arkham was delayed due to concerns over the quality of the port, and Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection included one of the strangest-looking NPCs in recent memory.

Joe Skrebels is IGN's UK News Editor, and he hopes someone at Virtuos considers Dynasty Warriors 9 a AAA game. Follow him on Twitter.
