Speedrunner 100-Percents Zelda: BotW in Under 50 Hours

That's a lot of swift carrots.

The first Zelda: Breath of the Wild 100 percent speedrun has been completed by French player Xalikah, and it clocks in at just under 50 hours.

Polygon reports that the 49-hour playthrough was completed this week on Xalikah's Twitch. His entire run has been split into two parts and the archive is available to watch on his Twitch channel.

The playthrough is the first speedrun to meet the requirements for a 100-percent complete playthrough.  These terms include fully upgrading Link's health, stamina, runes, and armor, finishing every quest, finishing all 120 shrines, collecting all key items, and completing the compendium and map.

To get a better idea of exactly how much work this entails, our 100 percent completion checklist gives a run through of just some of what this challenge includes. This feat is especially impressive considering that series producer Eiji Aonuma once said that it would be impossible to 100 percent complete Breath of the Wild in under one week.

The run is entirely in Xalikah's native tongue, so non-French speakers won't appreciate any of his commentary, plus keep in mind that it is a 50-hour commitment to watch the entire thing.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild was only released last month and is not only an incredible talking piece amongst players but also scored a 10 as a masterpiece in our review.
