Invincible Iron Man #1 - $3.99
STL023996

By writer Brian Michael Bendis & artist Stefano Caselli | Marvel Comics

You probably heard that Riri Williams will become the new Iron Man (named Ironheart) months ago when it exploded across the internet and everyone took it really well. We’ve seen the initial steps of her journey already, but this week sees the release of Invincible Iron Man #1, the first issue of Riri taking up the mantle formerly held by Tony Stark and telling her origin story.

You might be asking yourself what happened to Tony, and the weird part is that we don’t know yet. This series takes place after the events of Civil War II, but due to publishing delays, the final two chapters of that event have yet to hit stands. We don’t know if the finale will see Tony dead, imprisoned, trapped in a computer, or what, but we do know that something happens that takes him off the board so that Riri needs to step up to fill his jet boots.

Amazing Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows #1 - $4.99
STL023859 b

By writer Gerry Conway & artist Ryan Stegman | Marvel Comics

Secret Wars gave us a taste of what life would be like if One More Day never happened. Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson stayed married, had a child named Annie, and went on to live a (mostly) happy life. Now we’re seeing the concept go even further as this new series sees both MJ and Annie get Spider-Powers.

Seeing the Spider-Family back together and bursting with energy, humor and love has stirred up some mighty strong feelings in our hearts, and we honestly can’t wait to dive into this series -- written by Gerry Conway, no less -- despite the fact that it’s not taking place in the main Marvel Universe.

Spider-Man/Deadpool #11 - $3.99
STL023824 h

By writer Penn Jillette & artist Scott Koblish | Marvel Comics

The regular Spider-Man/Deadpool creative team is taking a break, and filling in for them is Penn Jillette of comedy/magic duo Penn and Teller. (He’s the taller one who does all the talking.) Deadpool has attracted notable names in comedy to comics like honey to a bear, and now he's literally brought two comedians into comics.

This is a standalone story that sees, as the cover implies, Spider-Man and Deadpool swap partners with Penn and Teller. Just think of all the “magic” tricks that Penn can do thanks to Deadpool’s healing factor. Ugh. On second thought, maybe we’d rather not imagine that.

Betty and Veronica #2 - $3.99
STL012761

By writer/artist Adam Hughes | Archie Comics

The first issue of Betty and Veronica blew us away with its charming art and snappy narrative, scoring yet another win for the Archie Comics reboot. We’ve been waiting for what feels like forever for this second issue to hit, but hey, when you’re getting such exquisite work from none other than Adam Hughes, it’s hard to complain.
