Directed by David O. Russell.

Amazon and The Weinstein Company have secured a two-season commitment for David O. Russell's upcoming mafia crime series, which stars both Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore.

According to Deadline, Amazon closed the deal for two eight-episode seasons for $160 million. All sixteen episodes of the currently untitled series are written and directed by Russell.

News of the project surfaced a few months ago, with several networks fighting to secure the promising package of Russell, De Niro and Moore. While Amazon ultimately won out, FX was reportedly in contention as well.

This isn't the first time Russell and De Niro have worked together, with De Niro having starred in Silver Linings Playbook and Joy, both of which were directed by Russell.

Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert developed the project with Russell, and are on board to produce. Meanwhile, Harvey Weinstein, David Glasser and Megan Ellison will serve as executive producers.
