Deadpool 2 has reportedly found its new director in David Leitch.
According to Variety, the John Wick director, who was said to be Fox's top choice to fill the void left by Tim Miller's departure, has closed a deal to direct the upcoming sequel.
Miller, who directed the first Deadpool, stepped away from the sequel just a few weeks ago over creative differences with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
The director reportedly had a much more stylish version in mind, which would have cost three times that of the original, and wanted Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler to play Cable, a casting choice Reynolds wasn't on board with.
According to Deadpool co-screenwriter Paul Wernick, Deadpool 2 is taking a smaller budgeted approach and won't be inundated with X-Men characters. Meanwhile, Fox is reportedly already planning Deadpool 3, which may introduce X-Force.
