A $2,000 Solid Gold Pikachu Card Is for Sale in Japan

I choose you, solid gold Pikachu!

To celebrate 20 years of Pokemon trading cards, the Pokemon Company has released a solid gold Pikachu card.

As spotted by Kotaku, the extravagant card is the result of a joint venture between the Pokemon Company and jeweler Ginza Tanaka, and is currently priced at 216,000 yen (USD$2081). Check it out in the gallery below!

If you're looking for something a little more, uh, affordable, The Pokemon Company also recently unveiled a new line of Mario and Luigi-themed merchandise that will be available for Pokemon Center shoppers in Japan.
