Capbara Games' Below Delayed Again

And no new release date has been decided... yet.

Capybara Games' Below, which was last set to release this summer, has been delayed once again without a new release window or date announced, the developer revealed today.

The studio said in the new blog post that it is "not quite done excavating [Below's] depths, or polishing all of its facets," and has decided to take more time to ensure the game "lives up to our studio’s standards, and the quality that you expect from our games."

Capy did not offer a new release date, however, and is instead "going dark while we take the time that we need to complete Below without compromise." The developer will only be giving the next update on the game when it "has a firm release date," which Capy will share at that time.

"We’re sorry we let you down with yet another delay. But in the end, we need to make certain that the hard work we’ve put into this game turns into something you’ll love, and to us that unfortunately means keeping Below in the oven a while longer, until it truly is ready," the developer wrote.

Below was first announced at E3 2013 as an Xbox One exclusive and has had several planned release windows during its development. Below was once set to release in 2015, but was delayed into this year last December.

The procedurally generated adventure game comes from the same developers of Super Time Force. IGN spoke with the team behind Below at this year's E3, and Capy's Nathan Vella appeared on an episode of Podcast Unlocked last year to discuss more about the title during our IGN First preview of Below.
