Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok has begun filming in Australia, director Taika Waititi announced on Twitter.
The first day—July 4—was "pretty sweet," according to Waititi. He tweeted the photo below, showing off the set chairs for much of the production staff.

The tweet came as a response to Ant-Man director Peyton Reed congratulating Waititi on a successful first day. "Taika, remember: explosions!" the Ant-Man director added.
Much of the Thor: Ragnarok supporting cast has been revealed, with Cate Blanchett playing a new villain called Hela, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban as Skurge. And of course, Chris Hemsworth will return as Thor, with Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk.
Thor: Ragnarok is slated for release on November 3, 2017. In May, we learned the film could draw from the popular Planet Hulk comic book story line.
