PlayStation Exec Leaves Company

And he's returning to the world of game development.

PlayStation's VP of Third Party Relations Adam Boyes is departing from his position at PlayStation to return to the development side of the industry.

Boyes made the announcement on Twitter as well as on the PlayStation Blogcast today.

"After an incredible journey here at PlayStation, I've made the very hard decision to return to the world of game development," Boyes wrote in a series of tweets.

Boyes was frequently a presence at Sony E3 press conferences and also notably appeared in a video with Sony's president of worldwide studios Shuhei Yoshida in a humorous video depicting how easy it is to share PlayStation 4 games in comparison to Microsoft's original Xbox One game sharing plans.

"The past 4+ years have been an absolutely amazing experience! I'd like to start out by thanking the incredible PlayStation Nation fans," he wrote. "Lots of thanks to throw out over the coming week as I wrap things up to head out on my new adventure... stay tuned," he continued.

Boyes also spoke about his decision to leave on the Blogcast.

"It’s been an amazing run. I’ve been here for over four years and had an incredible, incredible experience here. And I want to go make games again. That’s basically the next chapter of Adam’s story, is making games," Boyes said on the show.

Boyes noted that even his wife questioned why he would want to leave a "dream job" like this, but he explained that "seeing all the success and seeing all the people out there doing great things and putting caution to the wind is pretty exciting" in the development space.

Boyes did not announce where he is going next. Stay tuned to IGN for more.
